funtimes4all38: Email amounts vary greatly week to week, from 0 new contacts to 8 or 10! For us it generally seems to go in phases - you know, the feast or famine thing! However, on average, I would say we are contacted by 2 or 3 new members each week. I like to follow up with every member who does initiate contact to find out a little more about them. I can only recall one time when a member’s profile was clearly not compatible and we replied to that effect.

funtimes4all38: We have been fortunate enough to meet a number of really fun people on Adult FriendFinder! Through these meetings we have found out about parties held locally and in surrounding states, where we can meet and network with others. The local Saturday night hang-out is a place where we can now go and always know someone there whose company we can enjoy - and, of course, meet more Adult FriendFinderers! We have found that, as a general rule, people on Adult FriendFinder are a more fun, easy-going, non-judgmental crowd than those you would find at the local bar or club.

Adult FriendFinder: What process do you go through to get from the site to meeting new people? (Like how do you screen, what do you try to find out before meeting people, how quickly do you move from emailing to meeting people? That sort of thing.)

funtimes4all38: Whether we are initiating contact with a member, or responding to an email, reading the profile and topic questions is the first step in determining possible compatibility. We then email, tell more about ourselves and ask questions about them - there’s always something we want to know! After a follow-up email or two, if it looks like we would be compatible, then we like to meet face-to-face. We don’t see much point in long, drawn-out email campaigns since so much of the compatibility issue is personality and that can’t clearly be seen other than in person. We prefer to meet rather quickly, however we do understand that not everyone is comfortable with that and try to be patient. LOL

Adult FriendFinder: Could you tell us the complete story of one of your successful Adult FriendFinder matches, from your first online encounter to the good play and happy surprises?

funtimes4all38: Wow, we have had so many successes in our relatively short experience in the lifestyle, it’s difficult to choose. Oh well, here goes: The first couple that we met where it was a truly comfortable meeting, was after only a couple of brief emails. We met at a brewpub and the attraction was immediate! Even though it was a weeknight and we had to be up at 5am to get ready for work the next morning, we sat and talked until well after midnight. We were both new to swinging, us with 2 or 3 experiences, them with none - we were the first couple they had even met!

Although the chat room has taken us time to get the hang of, it has been well worth the time spent since we can get to know other members in the area, find out about local events, etc. In addition, having your network visible and spending time in chat rooms increases your profile visibility and consequently the number of possible matches. We have also learned to write a more clear profile that explains exactly what we are looking for. The clearer the profile, the easier it is to locate compatible members.

Adult FriendFinder: Your profile says you’re a "full swap couple." Could you explain that term for people new to swinging?

funtimes4all38: For people new to swinging, I would describe it the same as it was to us when we were new: Soft swap would include kissing, petting, oral sex with another partner - pretty much anything but actual penetration. Hard (or full) swap would include penetration.

Adult FriendFinder: What are some things you think are important for couples to put in their profile right up front? And what makes a profile attractive to you?

funtimes4all38: Probably the most important thing is to know exactly what you are looking for and then put it in your profile clearly. Profiles that attract us are detailed, have a sexy (not necessarily nude) photo, and preferably at least part of the topic questions completed. By completing the topic questions, it saves a great deal of time in locating compatible members. For instance, in our case we are looking for a couple to spend time with outside of playing. If we read their topic questions and they do not enjoy the same type of music, movies and recreational activities then it’s a pretty safe bet that it would not be a good match.

Adult FriendFinder: We hear from a lot of members that there are people who seem to be all gung ho at first, and then when it comes time to meet, they disappear. Let’s assume that it’s because these disappearing members have maybe never gone from online to real time and they’re unsure how to go about it. What do you do to make your first meeting comfortable? (You may have already answered this earlier.)

funtimes4all38: Going from online to real time IS a difficult thing to do, and remains uncomfortable for a while. We generally prefer to meet in a “neutral?location like a restaurant. This way you can chat casually over hot wings and beer or something along those lines. We generally have an initial visit and then everyone can go home, think about it, discuss with their partner and decide whether to proceed from there. Just one thing - unless you have a good photo and remember to take it with you to identify the person, I would suggest wearing something distinctive and letting each other know so you can easily locate one another! Speaking from experience, there’s nothing worse than wondering just who you are looking for in a crowded restaurant!
